Next, an impress (mold) of your prepared tooth is made. During this time, the best shade of the veneer will be decided on. This mold gets sent to a dental lab to be custom-made. This process unfortunately can take several days, but you may be administered temporary veneers to wear in the meantime.

Upon your next visit, your dentist will make sure your custom veneer fits your tooth. Once they are satisfied with the fit, your teeth will be cleaned and the veneer will be bonded to your tooth.

Any adjustments or changes can be made during future appointments.

You will be asked how they feel before you leave your application appointment so adjustments can be made. Although they are not “permanent”, when you properly care for your teeth and veneers, they can for a very long time. Veneers can be updated and improved if needed, but will typically last between 10 and 30 years. There is the possibility your veneer can come loose over time. If this does happen, a replacement may be needed.
